Where the returns come from

Different returns, from different places.

Property, cash and shares are familiar for good reason. Private markets add opportunities whose returns depend on businesses and outcomes, not on share prices.

01

Private credit

Lending to businesses directly, outside the banks. Returns come from the borrower's interest and repayments.

02

Litigation finance

Funding the costs of legal claims in return for an agreed share of what the claim recovers. Returns depend on the outcome of the case.

03

Property

Returns come from the underlying property, through rental income, a rise in its value, or both.

04

Private businesses

Investing in privately owned companies. Returns depend on how the business performs.

Also on the platform: specialist finance and funds, commodities, art and other alternative strategies. The mix changes as new opportunities pass review.

Is this for you?

Built for some investors. Not for everyone.

This is for investors who:

  • have US$25,000 or more to place in private markets
  • can leave that money invested for the full term
  • want the documents and make their own decisions

It isn't for anyone who:

  • might need the money back at short notice
  • is looking for a guaranteed return
  • wants to be told what to invest in

What can go wrong

The risks, stated plainly.

Borrowers can default

If a business can't repay, some or all of the capital can be lost.

Cases can lose

In litigation finance, a losing claim can mean losing everything allocated to it.

Money is tied up

Most opportunities have fixed terms, and there's usually no way to sell early.

Timings can slip

Repayments and case outcomes don't always arrive on schedule.

Concentration

One opportunity is one outcome. Spreading across several changes the picture.

Protection varies

Regulation differs by provider and opportunity, and not every alternative investment is covered by a compensation scheme.

Which is why every opportunity comes with its fact sheet and due diligence, not just a headline.

Questions

Before you register

Does it cost anything to register?
Registration is generally free. Each opportunity then has its own terms, minimums and eligibility criteria, and registering doesn't commit you to investing.
Is HCW giving me advice?
No. HCW provides opportunities, research and documents. It doesn't give financial advice or personal recommendations. You may want to take independent advice before investing.
Can I get my money out early?
Terms vary by opportunity, and some tie up capital for several years. How and when capital is returned is set out in each opportunity's documentation.
What happens after I register?
You'll be sent a one-time code by email. Enter it, and you can browse the opportunities, fact sheets and documents. Some opportunities may ask for identity or eligibility checks before you can invest.
Who can register?
Investors from eligible jurisdictions. Access to individual opportunities can depend on residency, investor status and that opportunity's own criteria.
Who is HCW Middle East?
An information and access platform for alternative investments, based in Dubai. It isn't a wealth manager or financial adviser. Its regulatory position depends on the activity, the jurisdiction and the opportunity, and individual providers may hold their own permissions.
